Unbelievably horrible experience that all started with their Scan and Buy option. I would have let this go but when I was treated like a total criminal when trying to do the right thing something needed to be said. When I drove a hour out of my way to return to the store to clear this up, the manager there put the last nail in the coffin. She was so completely rude and condescending I’m honestly done with Menards. Great example of why the big box stores are losing customer loyalty. POOR customer service!
Simply responding with a general post doesn’t really help me in any way now does it? The idea you have taken this complaint seriously is a silly google algorithm. So thanks for proving my point. Nobody takes customer service seriously anymore. It’s all a big joke.
I gave the owensboro store three stars only because the quality of the treated lumber was excellent. The customer service was horrible outside. I purchased eight 2x10x16 treated. Great quality. They lost two stars because of lack of customer service in the outside lumber yard. I asked a forklift driver and another employee he was talking with where I could find the lumber. They pointed to an indoor pickup area. I drove into the indoor area and was having trouble locating the size I was looking for. I asked again for assistance and another pair of employees pointed and then continued their own discussion. While I struggled to load these 16' boards on my trailer, they walked past me laughing and talking. When I finished and exited, all four employees stared at me as I was leaving. I will say the guy at the gate was extremely pleasant and polite. Management needs to look at their outdoor yard help and teach them customer service!!
Update: it appears Menard’s management has responded to my original Review, asking me to contact them (via email) for “further assistance “? Not sure what that means, as I mentioned I made the purchase somewhere else. I already wasted an hour or so wandering around the store, I’ll respectfully decline the invitation to spend any more time on this. Best regards,

Visited the Owensboro store yesterday, looking for an item that I could describe (but didn’t know the name). Interrupted 2 clerks in the Tool section, they said “look in the Plumbing section.” Interrupted 2 different clerks in the plumbing section, they said “it’s probably in the Building supplies section.” Interrupted 4 clerks behind the desk in Building Supplies, one fellow said “they’re outside around the river rock” (they weren’t). An earmark of world class companies is that they rarely, if ever, give directions…..the staff puts down their phone, excuses themselves from the conversation, and takes the customer to the product. I went home, found and ordered the product from Amazon. Brick & mortar businesses MUST provide better “service”, else they will die - the Amazons of the world usually have competitive prices and deliver to my door. I go to a store for service.
This is a great place to purchase almost anything. Prices are usually better than Lowe's or Home Depot. Staff is always helpful and the store is always clean. It's my go-to place for home improvement.
Shopping was fine, but using their website and trying to find specific aisles for an item is way too difficult. Aisle numbering needs a makeover
Keys made in the kiosk. I got 3..paid for 2 as the 3rd one was free !!
My keys were special order but arrived in a secure envelope within 3 days. I am very impressed !🌷👍🏼thank you …
We went for additional paint drop cloths(to use as curtains), but were out of the size and weight I needed. We found one that was in the wrong size section, and got one that was a heavier weight that we will make due with.
People on the floor were very helpful to direct us in different areas we decided to browse (shower benches, medicine cabinets) and there were plenty of registers open, with friendly cashiers.
Besides what we needed they seemed well-stocked, and the store was clean. Pleasant experience and a good option to the other big box hardware stores in town.
Clean store, helpful employees. So much better than Lowe's. Hate the location buried in the back past Meijer. It deserves a better spot. I'd go more often if it was easier to get to.
This place is great. It has everything amd more you need for a house. The prices are fair or cheaper than you would find at Home Depot or Lowe's. Jeld-Wen windows are an amazing deal compared to the big box stores. I will return even though it's a two-hour drive from my
I really like Menards, and it is in a convenient location for me. They carry just about everything a DIY'er needs and plenty of their wants as well. People need to remember that you get what you pay for, they offer some stuff for free, then people complain it didn't last 100 years. Duh! I have been shopping here since it opened and have very few regrets about any of my purchases. Getting help or the attention of a Menards Associate is the biggest downer.
